Home & Farm Initiative

Our aquaponics farm project in Southern Ontario represents a unique opportunity to create a sustainable and socially impactful enterprise. By combining a 50,000-square-foot aquaponics farm with a rent-to-own home program for formerly unhoused individuals, we aim to empower individuals in need, provide them with stable income, and foster a sense of ownership and belonging while working in a sustainable, year-round farming industry.

The aquaponics farm will utilize cutting-edge technology to cultivate high-quality, pesticide-free produce in an environmentally friendly manner. Through the symbiotic relationship between fish and plants, we will maximize resource efficiency, minimize water consumption, and reduce the carbon footprint of our operations. In addition to our commitment to sustainable farming practices, our primary objective is to address the housing challenges unhoused individuals face. Our rent-to-own program will allow them to gradually transition into homeownership while earning income through their work on the farm. Providing secure, affordable, and dignified housing options will enable individuals to rebuild their lives and create a foundation for a brighter future.

The social impact of our project extends beyond housing and employment. We will establish comprehensive training programs to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful farm management. Additionally, we will collaborate with community organizations and develop a close relationship with the adjacent Tyendinaga  Mohawk Territory’s First Nations Technical Institute to provide support services, skills training, mentorship, and access to social resources, ensuring the holistic well-being of our participants.

By investing in our project, you will not only contribute to a sustainable food system but also make a profound difference in the lives of individuals who have experienced homelessness. The financial projections indicate a promising return on investment, driven by the growing demand for locally produced organic produce and the cost savings achieved through aquaponics technology.

We invite you to join us on this transformative journey, supporting our mission to create a model that combines environmental stewardship, economic viability, and social empowerment. Together, we can build a thriving community that embodies compassion, resilience and shared prosperity.
